Summary

Description

In 1928, Chrysler acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers and also established Plymouth and DeSoto brands. Plymouth was Chryslers lowest priced car, Dodge was next, then Desoto and Chrysler was top of the line. Plymouth introduced new names for their models in 1951. The base model was the Concord (2 door Coupe, 2 door Sedan and 2 door Suburban Wagon) The mid spec model was the Cambridge (2 door Coupe and 4 door Sedan) The top model was the Cranbrook, replacing the Special Deluxe (4 door Sedan, 2 door Coupe, 2 door Convertible and the 2 door pillarless hardtop, the Cranbrook Belvedere). From 1951-52, they were referred to as the P-23 Series. The Cranbrook 4 door sedan was also built in Australia from 1951-57, Australian design input was minimal, although major body panels were locally produced.
