Forbesganj Junction (station code: FBG) is a major railway station located in the town of Forbesganj in the Araria district of Bihar, India. It is an important junction on the Indian Railways network, connecting various parts of Bihar and neighbouring states. Forbesganj Junction is situated in Forbesganj, a town in the Araria district of Bihar, India. The coordinates for the station are 26.3N ,87.25E. Forbesganj Junction is elevated at 46 meters above sea level. It is owned by Indian Railways and operated by the North East Frontier Railway zone. The station lies on the Jogbani-Katihar section, Darbhanga-Forbesganj section and the Forbesganj-Saharsa line.It has 4 platforms and 6 tracks.
History
[edit]Forbesganj Junction has a history dating back to the British colonial era. The station was established on 1 July 1889 to facilitate trade and transportation in the region. Over the years, it has undergone various upgrades and renovations to accommodate increasing passenger and freight traffic.

[edit]There are ongoing plans to further develop and modernize Forbesganj Junction. These include platform extensions, improved passenger amenities, and enhanced connectivity with other major railway stations. Under the development of Chicken neck corridor Final location Survey of 17.60 km LAXMIPUR FORBESGANJ line has been approved which will ensure better connectivity with North East region.
