Anthony Paul Kelly (1897 – September 26, 1932) was an American playwright and screenwriter.
Biography
[edit]Born in 1897 in New York City, Kelly wrote for 60 films between 1914 and 1930, and also wrote the play Three Faces East, which was the basis for two films of the same name. In 1926, Kelly gained notice for suing Al Jolson for breach of contract. The jury was discharged after failing to reach an agreement on a verdict.[1]
He died in Manhattan in 1932 after committing suicide by inhaling gas.[2] Kelly was battling an incurable case of tuberculosis at the time of his suicide.[3]
